Maynard Chronicles
Malta according to the Maynard Chronicles:
We headed off the ship early for the island of Malta. We took the “City and Knights of Malta” excursion. A lot of history and walking - good for the bad knee. We visited the city of Mdina - The Silent City. Our guide told us that the population was 299 people, hard to imagine. This city is where Paul was shipwrecked, and led many people to Jesus. He is the patron saint of Malta.
The bus took us to Valletta, the capitol city of Malta. This city was built by the Knights of St. John in the 16th century. We visited the Co-Cathedral of St. John (no good pictures) and then onto the palace where we learned more about the knights. Here is my knight - sorry for the blurr..We walked to the Barracca Gardens, where we saw the beauty of Grand Harbor.
That evening, we enjoyed dinner on board at Teppanyaki - where our chef Benedict (not the Pope) entertained us with his food creations and we enjoyed every bite.
