Scot Neil crash tragedy

A Scottish businessman has died eight days after he was involved in a road crash in Malta, from The Daily Record:
Neil Macklin, originally from Aberdeen, had been riding a BMW motorbike which was in collision with a car in Pembroke, in the north of the island, on March 14. He never regained consciousness. Neil, who would have celebrated his 33rd birthday today, had lived and worked for 14 years on Malta, where he was well known.

He had business interests in the oil and gas industry and he was influential in introducing Maltese workers to the offshore drilling industry. He was a director of Offshore Marine Services and started with the company, originally known as Macklin Management, in their office in Aberdeen. The company was founded by his dad Sandy Macklin.

Neil was a keen motorcyclist and had attended many international rallies and events and travelled extensively around the world. He is survived by his long-term partner Lynn Simpson and his parents, Sandy and Frieda, who live in Australia. All three were with Neil when hepassed away. A funeral service will be held on Malta tomorrow and in Aberdeen on Thursday.
