Money for family

A Malaysian woman arrested in Malta last month for drug trafficking admitted that she was lured by the money offered to her, from The Star newspaper in Malaysia:
..Norfaizura Azura Md Lias, 28, from Pulau Pangkor, Perak, said she wanted to earn some money for her family. “If I had known the reason for my trip to Europe was to be the middle person delivering the drugs, I would not have gone,” said the mother of three, when contacted by the Malay daily.

She was one of two Malaysian women arrested on the island. However, when she was arrested on March 17 at the airport in Malta, she agreed to work with the police. She said she was duped by a syndicate that offered her a well-paying job in Europe. She also said she regretted accepting the offer to work in Madrid.

Norfaizura, who is three months pregnant, said she was forced to deliver drugs to Italy and Malta from the syndicate’s base in Madrid several times. However, she said she was luckier than another victim, Dayang Sakienah Mat Lazim, 20, from Bukit Payung, Terengganu, who had been locked up in a house in Madrid. Dayang Sakienah is also now detained at the prison in Malta.
