Cheapest pints
A new website lets travellers track the world's cheapest pint, the Daily Record reported, via MM news:
According to the site, Pintprice.com, the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean is home to the cheapest pint with beers costing as little as 3p. In France, the average pint of lager soars high and stands at £4.44. In Malta the price for a pint of beer is listed as £1.57 which seems reasonable in comparison to other countries.
One reviewer wrote, "Look out for the deals, especially on bottled or canned beer sold from sea front bars."The website allows ale lovers to compare the cost of a pint in 143 countries. A site spokesman told the Daily Record that this is the only price comparison website worth drinking to - as well as the only travel and short-break holiday guide one really needs."It is a database of world beer prices, which you can use to find the best watering nation. We also feel beer is an important economic indicator of a country.”
