Sailors help the community
USS Nassau participates in Malta community relations projects, reports the US European Command website:
Thirty-eight Sailors aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau (LHA 4) participated in community relations projects while visiting the Mediterranean nation here, March 14-17. Sailors participated in four projects, to include the work at Holy Family Home for the Aged, the Residential Home for the Handicapped, the Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home, and the Missionaries of Charity.
Navy Lt. Cmdr. Michael Gore, Nassau's command chaplain, coordinated the projects and explained, "[The] Maltese were pleased to see us, were very hospitable and the Sailors had a great time."
