Howzat!

Anna is a cricket enthusiast from Australia who blogs at Howzat! and is currently in Malta visiting her Maltese grandparents. While in Malta, Anna has dicovered the roots for her love of cricket and in this entry she writes a tribute to the influential Kerry Packer, an Australian media tycoon, who died on Boxing day:

This morning my Grandmother came to me and said, "Anna, a rich Australian man died - they also mentioned something about cricket." The first thing that came to my mind was Kerry Packer. So therefore I will tribute this Entry to Kerry Packer. A lot of people may not know what Packer did for cricket. And for a buff like me it is a big loss, as he revolutionised the game - and without him, a day at the cricket just wouldn't be a day at the cricket. In some decade when I wasn't born - I think the 1970s. Perhaps the 80's - but I was born in the 80's but that's not the point. Anyway he tried to buy the rights to buy the cricket coverage - but Cricket Australia said no -it is for ABC. So in rebellion Packer started a new brand of cricket - the World Series Cricket.... KERRY PACKER - Rest In Peace - I'm pretty sure God will let you into heaven -because you made the best sport in the world even better.

Anyway today we went to Valletta and watched the Malta Experience - a slide show about Malta. It was very interesting. Malta is rich in history. I really like the story about the Knights of Saint John. I also now hate Napoleon because he was a thief, and looted the Holy Places. We went to St. John's Co-Cathederal and it was GROUSE! (grouse is QLD and VIC lingo for Great!) Each tile on the floor is a tombstone for a Knight. In the afternoon we went shopping. A really good shop had everything half-price! I also bought soMe cool shoes!...
